Discovered in August 1883 by E.E. Barnard, the Pacman Nebula is a bright Hydrogen and Oxygen nebula in Cassiopeia which is also associated with the open cluster IC5090.
There are several 'Bok Globules' in this region. This nebula is unofficially called the 'Pacman Nebula' due to its shape. It has also been dubbed the 'Selsey Whale'.
